The stability of the DMT (Dual Mode Truck) vehicle are discussed based on the simulation study and the field test. The conclusions of this study are summarized as follows. 1) For the modeling of DMT vehicle dynamics, the characteristics of power steering system should be taken into consideration. 2) The constructed model where the dynamics of the power steering system is taken into account can simulate the vehicle unstable motion which is appeared in the field test. 3) The simulation study and the field test show that the power steering system deteriorate the vehicle stability. 4) High speed operation (V = 100 km/h) of the DMT vehicle can be performed by (1) cutting off the power steering system and (2) applying suitable bias moment.
