In order to prevent aspiration noice caused by air leakage through any gaps between door seals and a vehicle body, a design method using numerical simulation is developed. Unsteady flow simulation for the prediction of aerodynamic force, both linear and non-linear structural analyses for door and seal deformation, are weakly coupled and used. The method is validated using experimental results. The present method is applied to the production design and the effectiveness is proved showing dramatic reduction of wind noise level.
