Recent advances in composite materials have integrated finite element analysis into the spacecraft structural design. The wing structure of an aircraft, made of composite materials, is one of the most important application on airplane design. However, the dynamic characteristics and structural responses of a prototype design are relatively difficult to predict. In this paper, procedures of response analysis for different loading conditions are discussed. The equivalent material properties of composite material and modal analysis are evaluated. Numerical results and comparison are presented to illustrate various aspects of the discussion.
