This paper describes the internal coating systems to protect severe corrosion in gas flowlines containing H2S, CO2 and water. The effectiveness of coating system was evaluated by various tests conducted in the laboratory. The new coating system consists of two layers. The inner phenolic coat exhibits high adhesiveness to the steel surface and the outer urethan modified epoxy coat has good chemical resistance providing an effective barrier against the permeation of corrosive materials. The autoclave tests simulating the flowline environment have demonstrated its excellent performance. Furthermore, the effetiveness of this coating system was also confirmed by the field test.
