In this paper, a new type of jointless rail track circuit is proposed. Both theoretical analysis and experimental results indicate good characteristics. The train detection sensitivity (especially the border characteristic), fail-safe properties, frequency characteristics, maintenance characteristics and reliability are shown to be satisfactory. Moreover, emergency repairs are expected to be rapid and easy. The motives for this research are the insulation joint problem and the train drive currents problem, and the only solution is a jointless track design.
