The US Air Force intends to upgrade its SAM suppression capability with the manned destructive SEAD system, a follow-on to the F-4G Wild Weasel aircraft. The goal is to build a system that can be quickly mounted and dismounted from an aircraft as needed. The most likely approach will be to put most of the system in a pod mounted on a standard weapons station, and equip the cockpit with a set of permanent or removable displays and controls.
