This AGARDograph addresses flight-test engineers and flight-test instrumentation engineers interested in the design of microprocessors into new airborne flight-test equipment. The author has met several engineers who are actively participating in aircraft- and electronic-flight testing at various organizations. Each organization has developed microprocessor-based instrumentation to solve its unique requirements. This AGARDograph describes general microprocessor-based, system-design principles and selected, current microprocessor applications for flight-testand flight-test instrumentation. It is hoped the reader will gain some new insights to apply microprocessors to future flight-test systems.
