The electric transmission system for electric rail systems consists of an upper weight carrying wire from which is suspended a contact wire and a pantograph on the top of the electric train. This system is inherently linked to limitations and disadvantages of such a limited life due to wear. The mentioned disadvantages are increased with increasing speed of the rail vehicle. A contactless inductive power supply is free in the strictest sense of wear. These advantages are clearly contrary to higher initial cost, a higher weight of the components in the rail vehicle and yes to a much larger concept necessary space. Decisive for implementing in standard gauge railway vehicles is the total cost, weight, and adapt to the mounting position in the rail vehicle. In other appropriate approaches for adapting a contactless inductive power supply to a configured in the context of research projects train (Nex Generation Train) are shown. The relevant technical issues and requirements are presented.
