Adaptive traffic control is a traffic management for effective and environmentally friendly transportation. The arrival and departure time of public transport vehicles is very important to design a robust traffic light controller. In this paper, we build a simulation framework to test a scenario of five intersections, where we try increase the flow of vehicles between them based on Hidden Markov Model (HMM) and Answer Set Programming (ASP). Therefore, we consider the traffic flow on a specific intersection and we estimate the traffic flow in the next intersection based on Hidden Markov Model (HMM). Then, we use Answer Set Programming (ASP) for scheduling between the traffic lights of the destination intersections which responses in real-time and can run on embedded platform. Finally, we test the controller using a microscopic simulator based on five intersections to check the performance of the system.
