Operational wear of aircraft high-power cylindrical piston engine was examined. The tests were conducted at the engine test house to verify the prototype of the engine with the anti-wear coatings covering some parts as well as with structural changes compared to serial Asz-62IR type engine. The test was conducted during a long-lasting trial (370 h) and included measurements of vibration and functional parameters of the engine. After tests and disassembly of the engine, the metrological and material examinations took place. An increase in mechanical efficiency and power as well as a decrease in fuel consumption and level of vibration were observed. This way, the legitimacy of introduced structural and technological changes was confirmed.
