Remote locomotive operation makes use of 2 pairs of frequencies. the system incorporates separate mixer and oscillator injection circuit. If signal on primary frequency falls below a usable level it is switched to alternate receiver front end. Radio transmitter (Rt) repeater acts as intermediate radio relay station. Rt repeater can be used at the ends of a tunnel. Short and medium tunnel repeater systems use one repeater. Deep cut repeater system makes use of radiating cable along the track side. Complete solidstate system.
