The MAGNAWEAVE process can fabricate shaped preforms for compsites structures that have no delamination planes for potential delamination failure. The possible impact of this construction on the growth of composite markets is discussed in detail for specific applications. Aircraft composites, by substituting for primary structural members, may increase composite use from 3 % to the desired goal of 65 % of the weight of the aircraft. Structural elements in construction such as bridges and buildings may be used as a commodity material, so low may its price become. In transportation the light weight composite can have the desired effect of significantly reducing fuel consumption.
