The bridge, which is 1265-ft. in length, with two main towers 153-ft. high, has a span of 580-ft. with the roadway at a height of 100-ft. High pressure sodium lamps are used which give the bridge a most pleasing colour rendering effect. 400-watt wide beam fittings are used in each of the bridge arches, with 400-watt narrow beam fittings being mounted on the main bridge tower piers. Because of the proximity of salt water the fittings are of the submersible type which could be submerged to a depth of 150-ft.
