Today's Computer Generated Image (CGI) Systems present a challenge to three (3) dimensional data base design because of their increased data base capacities. The data base scientist must satisfy customer requirements and, at the same time, work within the constraints of the visual system's hardware and software capabilities. The philosophy behind requirements, designing proposals, constructing data bases, and gaining acceptance of visual data bases will be discussed in this paper. The goal of these ideas is to create a cost-effective data base on ANY real time visual system and be assured of customer acceptance the very first time.
