Who will use an electric car? This question will be addressed by identifying those societal groups which show socioeconomic characteristics, mobility patterns and attitudes that are compatible with a future usage of electric cars. To answer this question a survey in the model region Bremen/Oldenburg is conducted to gather the necessary information. We group the more than 700 respondents according to selected socioeconomic characteristics and then analyze whether their needs, resources and attitudes are in favor of electric mobility. We come to the conclusion that urban singles, urban seniors and rural families are three user groups with the highest likelihood to employ electric mobility in the near future.
