In order to calculate the performance of double-sided long primary linear induction motor (DSLPLIM) more accurately and simply, a precise T-type equivalent circuit is derived, where the resistance and magnetization reactance correction coefficients are introduced separately to account for the effect of the backward traveling wave. Then, the electromagnetic thrust characteristic curves of the DSLPLIM are calculated by using the deduced T-type equivalent and finite-element simulation software at different frequencies, respectively, and the results are in good agreement.
