This article introduces main new features of the Unattended Train Operation (UTO) in urban railway transit and conducts analysis of scenario requirements and key points of functional testing with respect to characteristics of exceptional scenarios such as isolation of failed train doors & Platform Screen Doors (PSDs), automatic departure and creeping mode, etc. in UTO scenarios. On the basis of this, research is done in the scheme of application of automated testing in the UTO system. Automatic failure injection is put forward to create exceptions and achieve testing of system safety and stability.
