This paper describes a theoretical and experimental approach to determining the bearing capacity of adhesively and mechanically bonded joints in composite tubes. The authors used the finite element method to calculate stress-strain behavior in the joint area and developed technology and a mold to produce experimental carbon prototypes. Analytical and experimental results are presented in the paper.
