Testing was performed to determine the effective coefficient of friction (friction factor) for two motorcycles sliding on asphalt, gravel and grassy earth. The purpose was for use in estimating post-impact velocity of motorcycles involved in collisions. Testing revealed a significant difference for factors associated with each surface. In general, motorcycle model and speed did not appear to be significant.
