Based on the experimental data of KL6115GBXMQ city bus, this paper sets up a vehicle system dynamics model by means of AVL Cruise modeling tool, and analyzes some mainly influencing factors on fuel consumption of the city bus. In consideration of the important influence of driving cycle on fuel consumption for a city bus, some important fuel-saving measures are taken, and the simulation results correspond with the experimental results under the WUHAN typical urban driving cycle. Finally, some advices, which improve the fuel economy performance of a city bus, are put forward.
