A new system has been developed for the measurement and modelling of engine induction system acoustics. The system is capable of (1) measuring and storing microphone signals, (2) processing these signals into component properties and system performance parameters and (3) utilizing this processed data in an acoustic modelling program to predict and verify system performance. The results obtained show excellent correlation between the measured and predicted performance over the entire frequency range of interest.
