As a society and as an industry, they are at the beginning of what will undoubtedly be a transformative period for transportation in the US, Canada, and around the world. Technology is enabling a new set of travel options, new businesses, and perhaps new found freedoms -- particularly for the economically disadvantaged, the elderly, and the disabled. These advances are taking shape through connected and automated vehicle (CV/AV) technologies, the Internet of Things, and business models that leverage technology to provide mobility as a service. ITE is positioning itself to play a leadership role in these important discussions. ITE and its members are perfectly placed to help bring forward these larger perspectives.
