There have been recent advancements in lighting technologies that provide new strategies to airports for lighting parking garages. Although these advancements have resulted in more choices, most airports may not have the information or expertise needed to select and procure the most appropriate technologies to meet their unique individual operations. In addition, performance data for these new technologies is limited and obtained primarily from manufacturers. Research is needed to develop guidance to help airports objectively evaluate and select appropriate lighting technologies to meet their parking garage needs. The objective of this research is to provide a guidebook to help airports identify optimal lighting solutions for parking garage facilities to suit their own needs, operations, and site conditions.
