The primary purpose of the study was to determine to what extent the perceived job satisfactions of Air Force avionic systems maintenance technicians were influenced by the perceived complexities of the work role. Data for the research were gathered through personal face-to-face interviews administered to 170 technicians in four Air Force operational units. Questions asked in the interviews measured individual perceptions of four variables: level of job satisfaction; level of job complexity; level of test and repair equipment complexity; and level of system or end-item complexity. The results of the study are discussed. (Author)
