The proposed highway improvement consists of widening a mile long portion of Route 61, Doolittle Drive from two lanes to four with parking. The project is located in Alameda County between Davis Street (Route 112) and Hegenberger Road. The project will relieve congestion and provide service for increasing traffic demand. There will be improved automobile circulation particularly during the evening commute hours. There will be no significant effect on the socio-economic community nor on the natural environment. The project will introduce increases in the peak noise levels which are already high. A temporary soccer field within the golf course and several parking spaces will be relocated.
