A ten year Life Cycle Cost/Cost Benefit Analysis has been conducted on the Vehicle Portal Subsystem of the Enhanced Airport Security System Project at Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI). The Life Cycle Cost of the subsystem is estimated at $695,867, as compared with a baseline system cost of $18,030. The primary benefit of this subsystem is in an increased level of airport security.
