The Federal Aviation Administration developed the Rotorcraft Master Plan to contribute to a climate in which industry can continue to expand and realize the full potential of rotorcraft in meeting the nation's transportation needs. This plan addresses all aspects of rotorcraft requirements through the year 2000 in the areas of certification, heliports, and the National Airspace System (NAS). It is designed to interface with the NAS Plan and other planning documents that will guide agency actions for the remainder of the 20th century. Keywords: Aircraft industry; Rotary wing aircraft regulations; Visual flight rules; Instrument flight; Aviation safety; Adverse conditions; Helicopters. (edc)
