An aero-engine is an aerodynamic thermal system, which has complex mechanical structure and corresponding control structure. To ensure the reliability and stability of an aero-engine, accurate and effective fault diagnosis is required. In this paper, actuator fault diagnosis of an aero-engine is studied. Unknown input observers (UIOs) are proposed for different types of actuator faults, so the residual set can be obtained, which contains fault information, realizing actuator fault diagnosis. The results show that, the UIOs proposed in this paper can effectively decouple the actuator faults, showing strong robustness. Then, achieve fault detection and isolation, reflecting the accuracy and timeliness of fault diagnosis.
