This paper describes the process of commissioning a motor-generator unit for a parallel hybrid electric vehicle. The system consists of a permanent-magnet synchronous machine, a power converter to enable torque control, and a lithium-ion battery pack. Methods used to test proper system function are discussed, along with experimental measurement results.
