Summary form only given. We discuss quasi-phase-matched blue-green second-harmonic generation in a ZnCdSe waveguide grown on an AlGaAs template with patterned crystal orientation. The design and fabrication of the quasiphase-matched waveguide include those ofa template with periodic domain inversion and those ofa waveguide for confining both the fundamental and the second-harmonic waves.
