An aerator has a submersible mixing tube having a water inlet and an aerated water outlet. An aspirating tube penetrates the mixing tube between the water inlet and the aerated water outlet, the aspirating tube having an air outlet introducing air into the mixing tube and an air inlet drawing in air from atmosphere above a water surface. The mixing tube has an outboard motor lower unit engagement to engage a lower unit of an outboard motor in use such that a propeller thereof locates entirely within the mixing tube with a midsection of the outboard motor extending from the engagement. As such, the propeller of the outboard motor lower unit thrusts water past the air inlet thereby creating suction at the inlet to draw air via the mixing tube to mix with the water to expel a plume of aerated water.

L'invention concerne un aérateur comportant un tube de mélange submersible ayant une entrée d'eau et une sortie d'eau aérée. Un tube d'aspiration pénètre dans le tube de mélange entre l'entrée d'eau et la sortie d'eau aérée, le tube d'aspiration comportant une sortie d'air qui permet d'introduire de l'air dans le tube de mélange et une entrée d'air qui aspire l'air de l'atmosphère au-dessus de la surface de l'eau. Le tube de mélange comporte un engagement d'unité inférieure de moteur hors-bord pour venir en prise avec une unité inférieure d'un moteur hors-bord en cours d'utilisation de telle sorte qu'une hélice de celui-ci se situe entièrement à l'intérieur du tube de mélange avec une section médiane du moteur hors-bord s'étendant à partir de l'engagement. Ainsi, l'hélice de l'unité inférieure du moteur hors-bord pousse l'eau devant l'entrée d'air, créant ainsi une aspiration à l'entrée permettant d'aspirer l'air par l'intermédiaire du tube de mélange pour le mélanger à l'eau et expulser un panache d'eau aérée.
