The present invention relates to remote head up display (HUD) device and method, and to an HUD device having the size reduced by 30% or more compared to a conventional HUD device and to an HUD providing method. The remote head up display (HUD) device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a concave mirror forming a magnified upright virtual image; an image processing unit positioned within a focal distance from the center of the concave mirror and outputting operation-related information in a form of images; and a convex lens positioned between the concave mirror and the image processing unit to be capable of adjusting the size of the magnified upright virtual image. In addition, the present invention may include a component enabling a user to adjust a distance between the image processing unit and the convex lens using a manual dial such that optimal size and virtual image distance can be set and provided.
본 발명은 원거리 HUD(Head Up Display) 기기 및 방법에 관한 것으로서, 기존의 HUD 기기 보다 크기를 30% 이상 감소시킨 HUD 기기 및 HUD 제공 방법으로, 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따른 원거리 HUD(Head Up Display) 기기는 확대된 정립 허상을 형성하는 오목거울, 상기 오목거울의 중심으로부터 초점거리 내에 위치하며, 운전관련 정보를 영상으로 출력하는 영상처리부 및 상기 오목거울과 상기 영상처리부 사이에 위치해 상기 확대된 정립 허상의 크기를 조절할 수 있는 볼록렌즈를 포함할 수 있다. 또, 영상처리부 및 볼록렌즈 사이의 거리를 사용자가 수동다이얼을 통해 조절할 수 있어 최적의 크기 및 허상거리를 설정해 제공받는 것을 포함할 수 있다.
