Disclosed are a battery system and a method for assigning identification thereof. The battery system according to the present invention comprises: a battery management system (BMS); and a plurality of cell module controllers (CMCs) connected to the BMS and connected to corresponding battery modules, respectively. The BMS turns off a random CMC among the CMCs, receives data from the CMCs, checks a physical connection location of the CMCs by checking a physical connection location of the CMC turned off on the basis of the number of received data, and assigns final identification (ID) of the CMCs on the basis of the physical connection location of the CMCs.
배터리 시스템 및 배터리 시스템의 식별 정보 부여 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명에 따른 배터리 시스템은, 배터리 관리 시스템(Battery Management System; BMS); 및 상기 BMS에 연결되고, 각각 대응하는 배터리 모듈에 연결되는 복수의 셀 모듈 컨트롤러(Cell Module Controller; CMC)를 포함하되, 상기 BMS는, 상기 복수의 CMC 중 임의의 CMC를 오프(OFF)한 다음, 상기 복수의 CMC로부터 데이터를 수신하고, 수신된 데이터의 수에 기반하여 오프된 상기 CMC의 물리적 연결 위치를 확인함에 의해 상기 복수의 CMC의 물리적 연결 위치를 확인하고, 상기 복수의 CMC의 물리적 연결 위치에 기반하여 상기 복수의 CMC의 최종 식별 정보(Identification; ID)를 부여한다.
