The present invention relates to a head-up display and a control method thereof. The head-up display includes an attention region detection part for detecting the surveillance region of a driver, a HUD image output part for outputting a HUD image and controls the display of an image object corresponding to a second group among image objects classified into a first group and the second group on in a region other than the viewing region of the detected driver. So, it is possible to prevent the drivers view from being disturbed.

    본 발명은 헤드업 디스플레이 및 그 제어방법에 관한 것으로, 운전자의 주시영역을 검출하는 주시영역검출부, HUD 영상을 출력하는 HUD영상출력부 및 상기 HUD영상출력부를 제어하여 HUD 영상을 출력하되, 제1그룹과 제2그룹으로 분류되는 이미지 객체들 중 상기 제2그룹에 해당하는 이미지 객체는 상기 검출된 운전자의 주시영역이 아닌 영역에 표시되도록 제어하는 제어부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
