The present invention provides a charger for an electric vehicle, capable of detecting a temperature change inside a plug. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the charger comprises: a first connector inserted into an outlet of commercial power; a second connector connected to a device to be charged; and a charger main unit interposed between the first and second connectors, and controlling charging power supplied to the device to be charged through the second connector in accordance with an internal temperature change of the first connector. A detection unit including a strain gauge of which a resistance value is changed in accordance with the internal temperature change of the first connector is mounted in the first connector. The charger main unit includes a control unit to detect the resistance value of the detection unit, to detect the internal temperature of the first connector based on the detected resistance value, and to control the charging power in accordance with the detected internal temperature.

    실시 예에 따른 전기 자동차 충전기는 상용 전원의 콘센트에 삽입되는 제 1 커넥터; 충전 대상 장치에 연결되는 제 2 커넥터; 및 상기 제 1 커넥터와 제 2 커넥터 사이에 배치되고, 상기 제 1 커넥터의 내부 온도 변화에 따라 상기 제 2 커넥터를 통해 상기 충전 대상 장치로 공급되는 충전 전원을 단속하는 충전기 본체를 포함하며, 상기 제 1 커넥터의 내부에는, 상기 제 1 커넥터의 내부 온도 변화에 따라 저항 값이 변화하는 스트레인 게이지를 포함하는 감지부가 장착되고, 상기 충전기 본체는, 상기 감지부의 저항 값을 감지하고, 상기 감지한 저항 값을 토대로 상기 제 1 커넥터의 내부 온도를 감지하며, 상기 감지한 내부 온도에 따라 상기 충전 전원을 단속하는 제어부를 포함한다.
