To facilitate avoidance of approaching an obstacle present in a blind spot between detection ranges of perimeter monitoring sensors in the horizontal direction while improving the detection accuracy of the position of the obstacle using the perimeter monitoring sensors even when using multiple perimeter monitoring sensors to monitor the perimeter of the vehicle.SOLUTION: A vehicle perimeter monitoring device includes: a first position identification unit 101 and a second position identification unit 102 that determine positions of obstacle detection points from detection results of a first sonar 21 and a second sonar 22; a position update unit 131 that updates the position with respect to a position group of the detection points according to the change in the position of a self vehicle; a storage processing unit 132 that stores the updated positions of the detection points in a non-volatile memory 142 when the vehicle is parked; and a position estimation unit 15 that estimates the position of the detection points present in a blind spot between the first sonar 21 and the second sonar 22 at the time of start using the position group of the detection points stored in the non-volatile memory 142.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】車両の周辺を監視するために複数の周辺監視センサを用いる場合であっても、周辺監視センサを用いた障害物の位置の検出精度を高めつつ、駐車している車両を発進させる際に水平方向における周辺監視センサの検出範囲間の死角に存在する障害物への近接をより回避しやすくする。【解決手段】第１ソナー２１，第２ソナー２２での検出結果から障害物の検出点の位置を特定する第１位置特定部１０１，第２位置特定部１０２と、逐次特定する検出点の位置群について、自車の位置の変化に応じて位置を更新する位置更新部１３１と、駐車時に、更新された検出点の位置群を不揮発性メモリ１４２に記憶する記憶処理部１３２と、駐車後の発進時に、不揮発性メモリ１４２に記憶しておいた検出点の位置群を用いて、発進時に第１ソナー２１，第２ソナー２２間の死角に存在する検出点の位置を推定する位置推定部１５とを備える。【選択図】図１
