To provide a method, an apparatus and a system for transmitting a four-dimensional flight route to an aircraft.SOLUTION: In an aircraft routing environment 200, a computer system 204 of a flight route uplink system 215 receives four-dimensional flight route information 206 on a four-dimensional flight route for flight of an aircraft. The four-dimensional flight route information includes flight route changing points representing the four-dimensional flight route. A subset of the flight route changing points representing a shape of the four-dimensional flight route is selected, and a message containing the subset of the flight route changing points is generated in a format used by an aircraft computer system 224 in an aircraft 212 and is transmitted to the aircraft computer system 224.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
