To reduce time to start output of an alert sound when an on-vehicle device is started up.SOLUTION: An on-vehicle device includes: a first pulse generation unit generating a first pulse according to prescribed equipment before receiving data stream sent by the prescribed equipment; a second pulse generation unit generating a second pulse on the basis of the received data stream; an output unit outputting an alert sound on the basis of the first pulse or the second pulse; and a switching unit outputting the first pulse to the output unit before receiving the data stream, and outputting the second pulse to the output unit after the first pulse and the second pulse are coincident.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
