To provide a vehicle speed control device that reduces anxiety imparted to a person.SOLUTION: A vehicle speed control device 1 comprises: a lane detection unit 120 for detecting a roadway outside line of a lane on which the own vehicle V travels; a target detection unit 121 for detecting a target existing outside the roadway outside line; and a speed control unit 123 for controlling a speed of the own vehicle so as to pass through the side of the target at a speed lower than a speed of a vehicle when the target detection unit 121 detects the target. The speed control unit 123 accelerates the own vehicle to the speed when the target is detected, after the own vehicle passes through the side of the target.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

【課題】人に与える不安感を低減する車速制御装置を提供する。【解決手段】車速制御装置１は、自車両Ｖが走行する車線の車道外側線を検出する車線検出部１２０と、車道外側線の外側に存在する対象を検出する対象検出部１２１と、対象検出部１２１が対象を検出したときの自車両の速度より低い速度で対象の側方を通過するように自車両の速度を制御する速度制御部１２３と、を備える。速度制御部１２３は、自車両が対象の側方を通過後、対象を検出したときの速度まで自車両を加速する。【選択図】図２
