PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive device which can further improve energy efficiency of a hybrid vehicle and an electric automobile.SOLUTION: A motor drive device includes a motor 3 connected to a drive wheel 7 of a vehicle A, a motor drive circuit 2 connected to the motor 3, and a control device 10 which controls the motor drive circuit 2. When a non-operation state of acceleration operation is continuously detected during travel of the vehicle, the control device 10 makes the motor 3 perform regenerative braking so that braking force more than first braking force T2 acts on the vehicle A in a period L1 of decelerating from a first traveling speed to a second traveling speed during a time when the non-operation state of the acceleration operation is detected. In a period L2 of decelerating from the second traveling speed to a third traveling speed, the control device makes the motor 3 perform the regenerative braking so that braking force less than the first braking force T2 acts on the vehicle A.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

【課題】ハイブリッド車輌や電気自動車におけるエネルギー効率をより向上させることを可能とするモータ駆動装置を提供すること。【解決手段】車輌Ａの駆動輪７と接続されたモータ３と、前記モータ３と接続されたモータ駆動回路２と、前記モータ駆動回路２を制御する制御装置１０と、を備え、前記制御装置１０は、前記車輌の走行中にアクセル操作の非操作状態が継続的に検出されている場合、前記アクセル操作の非操作状態が検出されたときの第１の走行速度から第２の走行速度まで減速する期間Ｌ１においては、前記車輌Ａに第１の制動力Ｔ２以上の制動力が作用するように、前記モータ３に回生制動を行わせ、前記第２の走行速度から第３の走行速度まで減速する期間Ｌ２においては、前記車輌Ａに前記第１の制動力Ｔ２未満の制動力が作用するように、前記モータ３に回生制動を行わせる、モータ駆動装置。【選択図】図３
