Procédé (100) de surveillance du fonctionnement d'un système de direction assistée comprenant un volant, un moteur d'assistance et un module de surveillance (Msur) caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend : - une étape de détermination d'au moins une valeur limite temporaire (Vlmaxt, Vlmint) d'un paramètre; - une étape d'estimation (3) d'une valeur additionnelle (Vadd) apportée par une fonctionnalité d'aide (F) à une valeur consigne (Cmc) du paramètre; - une étape de correction (4) de l'au moins une valeur limite temporaire (Vlmaxt, Vlmint) par la valeur additionnelle (Vadd).
