A landing gear system (10) comprises a bogie beam (12), a landing gear axle (18) pivotally mounted to the bogie beam (12), a steering rack (50), a linear actuator assembly (34), and a steering control link (40). The steering rack (50) is secured transversely to the bogie beam (12) and is longitudinally spaced apart from the landing gear axle (18). The linear actuator assembly (34) is operable to laterally translate the steering rack (50). The steering control link (40) is longitudinally extendable and has an actuator end (42) secured to the steering rack (50), and an axle end (44) of the steering control link (40) engaged with the landing gear axle (18). The steering control link (40) and the landing gear axle (18) are pivotable relative to the bogie beam (12) about a common axis.
