The invention relates to an electric power steering device for a ground vehicle, said electric power steering device having an electric power steering motor which comprises a motor output shaft, said motor output shaft of the steering motor being connected to a steering gearing, the invention relates to an electric power steering system comprising a steering reduction gear which is designed to rotate a steered wheel about a steering axis, the electric power steering system comprising a steering angle sensor which is designed to detect an actual rotational position of the steered wheel about the steering axis. The invention relates to a steering angle sensor, comprising: a sensor gear driven by a motor output shaft, said sensor gear having a sensor shaft on which a magnetic element is arranged; and a magnetic sensor unit which interacts with the magnetic element and which is designed to detect a rotational position of the magnetic element. The steering angle sensor is arranged on an end face of the steering motor opposite the steering reduction gear.
