The invention relates to an airbag, comprising a housing part (1) and a folded air bag (2) which is accommodated in the housing part in the initial state of the airbag, and a guide blade (3) which is held at a first holding point thereof and which rests on the folded air bag in the initial state of the airbag, said guide blade being designed such that the folded air bag (2) is held at a second holding point of the guide blade (3) in the initial state of the airbag. During the inflation of the airbag, the inflated airbag switches the guide vane into a working position, in which the guide vane has a free end, which guides the inflated airbag over at least part of the length of extension thereof from the first retaining point thereof to the free end thereof. The application also relates to an arrangement in a vehicle comprising said airbag. The airbag has improved operational reliability.
