The present invention provides a vehicle exterior display device capable of performing a targeted display on a partner who wants to transmit, and transmitting beneficial information to the partner, according to a positional relationship between a vehicle and a pedestrian. A vehicle exterior display device is provided with: a host vehicle position information acquisition unit that acquires position information of a host vehicle; a crosswalk position information acquisition unit that acquires position information of a crosswalk; a surroundings information detection unit that detects pedestrians in the surroundings of the host vehicle; a display unit that has a display region that can be visually recognized from outside the host vehicle, and that can change the relative position between the display region and the host vehicle; and a display control unit that changes the display information displayed by the display unit and the display area in which the display information is displayed on the basis of the positional relationship among the host vehicle, the pedestrian crosswalk, and the pedestrian. The vehicle exterior display device of the present invention has the effect of being capable of performing a targeted display on a partner who wants to transmit, and transmitting beneficial information to the partner, according to the positional relationship between the vehicle and the pedestrian.
