Aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communications. In some aspects, a vulnerable road unit (VRU) device may determine that a parameter associated with movement of the VRU device satisfies one or more thresholds indicated in an event reporting configuration. The VRU device may transmit an indication of an event associated with the VRU device to a vehicle user equipment device based at least in part on determining that the parameter satisfies the one or more thresholds.
