A charging port assembly (100) includes a housing (110) having a DC section (114) with a DC terminal (126) received in a DC terminal channel (118) for mating with a DC charging connector, and an AC terminal (120) received in an AC terminal channel (116) for mating with an AC charging connector, including a proximity terminal (120d). The charging port assembly includes an HMI assembly (106) coupled to a rear portion (132) of the housing having a control circuit board (330), a charge indicator (332) coupled to the control circuit board to indicate a state of charge of the charging port assembly visible from a front portion of the housing, and a proximity resistor assembly (108) coupled to the housing. The proximity resistor assembly includes a resistor (202) coupled to the control circuit board and a cable connector (204) connected between the control circuit board and the proximity terminal.
