The invention provides a display control device for a vehicle, a display device for a vehicle, a display control method, and a display control program capable of suppressing the trouble of an occupant. A display control device for a vehicle displays an image in a display area that overlaps a portion of a foreground viewed from the vehicle. A display control device for a vehicle detects the position of a preceding vehicle traveling in front of the vehicle, and detects whether or not the entire preceding vehicle has separated from a display area on the basis of the position of the preceding vehicle. The vehicle display control device displays a captured image corresponding to the position of the preceding vehicle on the display region so as to overlap or be adjacent to the preceding vehicle, and when it is detected that the entire preceding vehicle is separated from the display region, displays the captured image in a flicker manner at the end of the display region on the side from which the entire preceding vehicle is separated. As a result, the vehicle display control device can suppress an occupant from feeling annoyance.
