A temperature estimation method for a motor according to an embodiment includes: a power conversion device that converts power from an overhead line; a motor that is driven by power supplied from the power conversion device; and a current sensor that detects a motor current flowing through the motor. And a rotational speed sensor that detects the rotational speed of the motor and an outside air temperature sensor that detects the outside air temperature, and calculates the temperature of the motor on the basis of the motor current detected by the current sensor, the rotational speed detected by the rotational speed sensor, and the outside air temperature detected by the outside air temperature sensor.
实施方式的电动机的温度推定方法具有转换来自架线的电力的电力转换装置、由从电力转换装置供给的电力驱动的电动机、检测电动机中流通的电动机电流的电流传感器、检测电动机的转速的转速传感器以及检测外部气温的外部气温传感器，基于由电流传感器检测到的电动机电流、由转速传感器检测到的转速以及由外部气温传感器检测到的外部气温，计算电动机的温度。
