The invention relates to an on-board leak detection system comprising a fuel tank (301, 401), a charge tube (302, 402), a drain line (303, 403) for recirculating fuel vapors from the tank to the charge tube, the system having a combination of pressure and temperature sensors mounted in a vapor dome of the fuel tank, and a pressure sensor located in the recirculation line above the highest possible liquid level that may occur in the recirculation line. The invention also relates to a method for detecting said leakage.
